General Counsel

We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to establish and lead the legal function within Anaman in a part-time capacity (3–4 days per week).

This is a key leadership role supporting the business across contracts, risk, compliance and governance in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will work closely with senior leadership to provide pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice, while shaping a scalable legal framework for a growing business.

This role offers flexibility while maintaining exposure to strategic, end-to-end legal work

About the Role

• Provide strategic and day to day legal advice across the business
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, client and supplier contracts
• Support major projects, tenders and commercial negotiations
• Establish and maintain legal, risk and compliance frameworks
• Advise on disputes, risk management and regulatory obligations
• Build fit for purpose governance, policies and processes
• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, balancing legal risk with commercial outcomes

About You

You are a commercially astute legal professional who is comfortable operating in a standalone capacity and influencing at a senior level.

• Admission as a lawyer in Queensland with an unrestricted practising certificate
• 7 or more years post-qualification experience in-house or large firm
• Strong experience in commercial, construction, infrastructure or resources environments
• Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders
• Pragmatic, solutions focused approach
• Comfortable balancing strategic input with hands on delivery
