Our History

Our History

An FKG Group Company

Built from a construction and civil engineering heritage, the FKG Group was established in the South West Queensland region of Brookstead in 1972.

With a strong understanding of the construction workforce and FIFO/DIDO working arrangements, the FKG Group was well placed to expand their service offerings to include the delivery of workers camps for clients in 2011, while also building, owning, and operating their own workers camps for their workforce in the years that followed.

In 2019, the FKG Group initiated the introduction of a new brand for its camp operations: ‘Anaman’. Remaining a wholly-owned subsidiary of the FKG Group, Anaman has gone from strength-to-strength, expanding their service offerings while continuing to benefit from the extensive network of complementary businesses, capabilities and resources within the Group.

Managing Director

Simon Gardner leads the Anaman team with over 30 years of hands-on experience across civil and building construction projects. As Group Manager, he drives the strategic direction of the business, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.

Simon’s deep understanding of plant, equipment, and site operations allows him to bridge the gap between clients, teams, and outcomes. His role spans leadership and staff development, stakeholder engagement, estimating, programming, and accommodation camp management—underpinned by a strong focus on growth, group-wide policies, and continuous improvement.

Julian Roberts

Operations Manager

Julian Roberts is an experienced Operations Manager with a proven track record delivering large-scale hospitality, facilities maintenance and asset management services across remote and regional operations. With responsibility for multi-million-dollar portfolios and complex camp environments, he brings strong expertise in contract management, financial performance and operational leadership.

Julian is highly skilled in managing diverse teams, driving safety and compliance outcomes, and optimising service delivery across multiple sites. He also possesses extensive knowledge of critical infrastructure and utilities essential to remote operations, enabling him to effectively manage risk, ensure reliability and support continuous improvement across all aspects of service delivery.

Sonja Horrigan

Corporate Services Manager

Sonja Horrigan is a finance professional with over a decade of experience in the construction and civil industries. Before joining Anaman, she spent 10 years with the FKG Group, where she developed a strong foundation in financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Sonja plays a vital role in optimising financial performance, managing project costs, and ensuring compliance. Her deep understanding of construction finance, combined with her proactive and detail-oriented approach, allows her to drive financial efficiency, risk management, and operational excellence, positioning Anaman for long-term success.

Simon is an experienced Manager with a demonstrated history of managing complex projects and remote based teams within the construction, civil, plant hire, labour hire and training industries and more recently leading Defence projects.

Simon leads by example while ensuring he is across all aspects of a business. His expertise and knowledge gained through the management and owning his own businesses enable him to seek innovative solutions for delivering detailed programs and achieving great results for his clients.
